Lipinski Issues Statement Regarding Superdelegate Vote

From Congressman Dan Lipinski (IL-3):

"During this primary season, there has been a lot of discussion about the role of superdelegates in the selection of the Democratic presidential nominee.

"As a Democratic member of Congress, I have a vote at the Democratic National Convention as a superdelegate. Before the Illinois primary I told Democrats in the Third District that I decided that I would pledge my vote to whichever candidate won the district.

"When the votes were counted, Sen. Bernie Sanders received 54% and Sec. Hillary Clinton received 45% in my district. Therefore, if there is a contested vote at the Democratic National Convention in July, I will vote for Sen. Sanders."

Lipinski Bill Signed Into Law Will Boost American Manufacturing and Jobs

Congressman Dan Lipinski’s (IL-3) bipartisan legislation to boost domestic manufacturing and American jobs by requiring a National Strategic Plan for Manufacturing has been signed into law.

The bill requires that at least every four years the President work with public and private stakeholders to produce and publish a plan to promote American manufacturing. In addition, every year the President’s budget blueprint will have to contain an explanation of how it promotes the most recent manufacturing strategy.
